Born on September 23, 1948 in the city of Sofia.
He graduated from the University of Veliko Tarnovo “St. St. Cyril and Methodius ”in 1974.
Since 1988 he has been a member of the UBA.
He won the II Prize "Painting" from the 14th Biennial of Humor and Satire in Gabrovo in 1999,
the Prize for Painting of Artists and Teachers in Veliko Tarnovo in 2003
and the Diploma III Biennial of Small Forms - Pleven , in 2006.
Nikolay Dobrev works in the field of realistic landscape painting,
drawing inspiration from Bulgarian nature, and in particular from the sea near Balchik and Shabla.
