Yuli Shumarev was born 1969 in Plovdiv. He has a degree in Elementary School Pedagogy at the Paisiy Hilendarski Plovdiv University with a specialization in Fine Arts. His first exhibition was in 1994 in Plovdiv and since then, he's had over 15 exhibitions in different cities of Bulgaria and France. His paintings are owned by the Bulgarian Cultural Center in Paris, Iliya Beshkov City Art Gallery in Pleven, the Museum exposition of Salon of naïve and intuitive art in Belogradchik, Bulgaria as well as by many private collections in Bulgaria, Europe, the USA and Canada. He lives and works in Ploydiv and is a member of the informal group Art Box 69.
