Ivo was born on the 31st of March in Pleven. In 1990 he graduated from the School of Applied Arts in Tryavna and afterwards continued his studies, graduating with a degree in Painting at the University of Veliko Tarnovo "St. St. Cyril and Methody". He lives and works in Pleven with his wife Nina Petrova. He has been the subject of many successful solo exhibitions both in Bulgaria and abroad.
Ivo Petrov works with figural paintings and is very inspired by the secession style, typical for the beginning of the 20th century. His paintings are characterized by a distinct vintage feel.
