At the beginning of the summer, Stanimir Videv opens his ninth exhibition in the space of the Aspect gallery, continuing with it the "Architektonics" theme
that he has been developing lately. The term architectonics (from Greek archi, main and tektoniké, construction) in art is used to denote the set of elements
that make up a given work and through them achieve unity between content and form and interrelationship between its constituent parts.
Architecture is the general construction of the work, regardless of whether we are talking about painting, music or literature and in Stanimir Videv's paintings
it unites original compositional solutions, harmony of complex colors and expressiveness of speech.
This exhibition presents around twenty paintings, most of which were painted especially for the Aspect space, united not only by the theme of architectonics,
but also by the great love of Stanimir, native of Plovdiv. "The theme that excited me for the paintings in this exhibition is my favorite city with its architectonics,
radiance, tonality and silhouettes. The silhouettes I see every day in front of me as I walk through the city streets. The silhouettes of people who carry
different moods and states. The silhouettes of the houses, which change incredibly depending on the sun's rays, cloudy weather, rain or are illuminated
by the moonlight..." - says the artist. The landscapes that capture the typical Plovdiv outlines, the cypresses of the Old Town, the unique atmosphere of Marasha,
the facades in the "Southern Town" heated by the bright Plovdiv sun prevail. Of course, there is also the painting "March", which is obligatory for every Stanimir's
exhibition, as well as several figural compositions. In the exposition, the expression is brought to the extreme, held in a mostly dark range, the paintings have
an ultimate and categorical impact, leaving no one indifferent. Repeatedly postponed over time, this exhibition was literally suffered by the artist, that is why
the impact is so strong and each painting is charged with a lot of emotion, with expressiveness and creative power.
